Privacy Policy

The American Council of Learned Societies is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors to the ACLS Website and of those who use the ACLS Online Fellowship Application (OFA) system.

As a matter of policy, we do not track or store any personal information about visitors to www.acls.org. You may view or download the information and publications available on the ACLS Website without providing any personal information.

We do maintain standard logs that provide information on the number of users, the domain names and IP addresses of users, the Website files accessed, and other items. This information does not identify individual users and is used solely for administrative purposes.

Personal information that is provided by the user for a specific purpose (e.g., for mailing of a publication) is used only for the stated purpose; it is not made available to any other parties.

Data transmitted through the ACLS Online Fellowship and Grant Administration (OFA) system is encrypted through the Secure Socket Layer protocol. The information provided is used to process fellowship and grant applications. ACLS may use the aggregate data collected for statistical research, including analyses of trends, and for reporting to ACLS funders.
